I got a copy of my brother-in-law’s music collection while I was in NY last weekend… all 24 GB’s of it. He and I had a lot of the same stuff so I made a TRM fingerprint of all the files in both of our collections and stuck it in a mysql database. Now I’m writing a tool to grade the duplicates using code from mp3guessenc to discover the encoder used and other mp3 checking tools to see if the file has any errors.
If I could get TuneTagger up and running then I could do it using that. (more on tunetagger later)

[arma] i think we live in a parallel unauthorized copy of earth. crop circles are the tell-tale signs of break-in.</p>
[arma] (speaking of digital rights management)
[coderman] lol
[tvoj] 34Rth 1z mY w4r3Z!!!!
[tvoj] arma: how kn i use UR crop-cirlce algo to h4ck pr0n?
[arma] well, the theory is, the watermarks are indistinguishable while they’re working,
[arma] but since obviously people have been removing watermark-sized pieces of corn fields,
[arma] then pretty soon we’re no longer going to have control over those fields.
[arma] ...the implications for hacking porn should be obvious.
[arma] i can give you a hint, if you need it:
[tvoj] arma: kn U send m3 sum l337 KoRn?
[arma] step 1: place crop circles in porn
[arma] step 3: profit.
[tvoj] U r g3nus.
[tvoj] arma: i tried k0rn pr0n but all i got was bitchslapped with a trout. was this success?
[arma] you must keep trying.

This is from Jason, my long time friend and co-conspirator, whom I’ve know since I lived overseas
Actually I’m sitting in an internet cafe in Bangkok, Thailand […] on all someone elses tab. :) Sometimes life deals you a royal flush. This trip has been such a blast. In the last week alone I have seen the Great Wall of China, a cock fight, thousands of dirt cheap DVD’s, the Forbidden Palace, met the VP for the largest telecommunications network in the Middle East and been almost killed numerous times ridding in a took-took. Asia is awesome! […] PS. Want any DVD’s? I can get Episode II for $2.
Grrr…. and I have to go to meetings….

Nevermind writing a paper saying open source software works, Germany just went with Linux across the board. Actions speak louder than works.
You will fall Mr. Bill. :)

Some jackass wrote this claming Open Source unfit for DoD use. Please, someone write a good counter paper, please?
